(MISSISSAUGA) - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today announced a new sales record for February. Total monthly sales reached 1,724 units, up 36.5 percent over the same month last year. With the addition of February's record-breaking results, Subaru's Canadian sales continue to grow faster than any other Japanese manufacturer in 2010.
The Subaru Forester and all-new Legacy and Outback all experienced unprecedented sales results for the month. While Forester sales were up 9.2 percent over last February, Legacy sedan sales were up by an outstanding 445.9 percent over the same month last year. Outback's sales also jumped by 412.8 percent over last February, besting the previous record, set in 2000, by 33.7 percent.
Recently, the 2010 Outback was named Canada's best new utility vehicle by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC). After winning the title of Canada's best new SUV/CUV in the under-$35,000 category, Outback added AJAC's best new CUV/SUV of the year to its already impressive collection of awards. Subaru was also recently named the top mainstream brand in ALG's (Automotive Lease Guide) Canadian Residual Value Awards.
